The monks reply, You must travel the earth and tell us how many blades of grass there are and the exact number of sand pebbles. When you find these numbers, you will become a monk.

The man sets about his task. Some forty-five years later, he returns and knocks on the door of the monastery. He says, I have traveled the earth and have found what you have asked for. There are

231,281,219,999,129,382 sand pebbles on the earth.

The monks reply, Congratulations. You are now a monk. We shall now show you the way to the sound.

The monks lead the man to a wooden door, where the head monk says, The sound is right behind that door.

The man reaches for the knob, but the door is locked. He says, Real funny. May I have the key?

The monks give him the key, and he opens the door.

Behind the wooden door is another door made of

stone. The man demands the key to the stone door.

The monks give him the key, and he opens it, only to find a door made of ruby. He demands another key from the monks, who provide it. Behind that door is another door, this one made of sapphire. So it went until the man had gone through doors of emerald, silver, topaz, and amethyst.

Finally, the monks say, This is the last key to the last door.

The man is relieved to no end. He unlocks the door,

turns the knob, and behind that door he is amazed to

find the source of that strange sound.

Man:- 52 Saturdays and 52 Sundays equals to 104 days

Manager:- Thanks for that. If you remove 104 days from 122 days, how many days do you now have?
Man:- 18 days.

Manager:- OK! I do give you 2 weeks sick leave every year. Now remove that14 days from the 18 days left. How many days do you have remaining?
Man:- 4 days
Manager:- Do you work on New Year day?
Man:- No sir!

Moral Story

A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft.
The HR manager interviewed him then watched him cleaning the floor as a
test.

"You are employed."

Sardar detective test….

A policeman was interrogating 3 SARDARS who were training to become detectives. To test their skills in recognizing a suspect, he shows the first SARDAR a picture for 5 seconds and then hides it.
"This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?"
The first SARDAR answers, "That's easy, we'll catch him fast because he only has one eye!"
The policeman says, "Well...uh.. .that's because the picture I showed is his side profile."
Slightly flustered by this ridiculous response, he flashes the picture for 5 seconds at the second SARDAR and asks him, "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him?"
The second SARDAR smiles, flips his hair and says, "Ha! He'd be too easy to catch because he only has one ear!"
The policeman angrily responds, "What's the matter with you two?? Of course only one eye and one ear are showing because it's a picture of his side profile! Is that the best answer you can come up with?"
Extremely frustrated at this point, he shows the picture to the third SARDAR and in a very testy voice asks, "This is your suspect, how would you recognize him? He quickly adds, "Think hard before giving me a stupid answer."
The SARDAR looks at the picture intently for a moment and says, "The suspect wears contact lenses."
The policeman is surprised and speechless because he really doesn't know himself if the suspect wears contacts or not. "Well, that's an interesting answer. Wait here for a few minutes while I check his file and I'll get back to you on that."
He leaves the room and goes to his office, checks the suspect's file in his computer, and comes back with a beaming smile on his face.
"Wow! I can't believe it. It's TRUE! The suspect does in fact wear contact lenses. Good work! How were you able to make such an astute observation? "
That's easy," the SARDAR replied. "He can't wear regular glasses because he only has one eye and one.

My mom only had one eye. I hated her... she was such an
embarrassment. My mom ran a small shop at a flea market.
She collected little weeds and such to sell... anything
for the money we needed she was such an embarrassment..
There was this one day during elementary school.
I remember that it was field day, and my mom came. I was
so embarrassed.
How could she do this to me? I threw her a hateful look
and ran out. The next day at school..."Your mom only has
one eye?!" and they taunted me.
I wished that my mom would just disappear from this world
so I said to my mom, "Mom, why don't you have the other
eye?! You're only going to make me a laughingstock. Why
don't you just die?" My mom did not respond. I guess I
felt a little bad, but at the same time, it felt good to
think that I had said what I'd wanted to say all this
time.
Maybe it was because my mom hadn't punished me, but I
didn't think that I had hurt her feelings very badly.
That night...I woke up, and went to the kitchen to get a
glass of water. My mom was crying there, so quietly, as
if she was afraid that she might wake me. I took a look
at her, and then turned away. Because of the thing I had
said to her earlier, there was something pinching at me
in the corner of my heart. Even so, I hated my mother who
was crying out of her one eye. So I told myself that I
would grow up and become successful, because I hated my
one-eyed mom and our desperate poverty.
Then I studied really hard. I left my mother and came to
Seoul and studied, and got accepted in the Seoul
University with all the confidence I had. Then, I got
married. I bought a house of my own. Then I had kids,
too. Now I'm living happily as a successful man. I like
it here because it's a place that doesn't remind me of my
mom. This happiness was getting bigger and bigger, when
someone unexpected came to see me "What?! Who's this?!"
...It was my mother...Still with her one eye. It felt as
if the whole sky was falling apart on me. My little girl
ran away, scared of my mom's eye.
And I asked her, "Who are you? I don't know you!!!" as if
I tried to make that real. I screamed at her "How dare
you come to my house and scare my daughter! GET OUT OF
HERE! NOW!!!" And to this, my mother quietly answered,
"oh, I'm so sorry. I may have gotten the wrong address,"
and she disappeared. Thank good ness... she doesn't
recognize me. I was quite relieved. I told myself that I
wasn't going to care, or think about this for the rest of
my life.
Then a wave of relief came upon me...one day, a letter
regarding a school reunion came to my house. I lied to my
wife saying that I was going on a business trip. After
the reunion, I went down to the old shack, that I used to
call a house...just out of curiosity there, I found my
mother fallen on the cold ground. But I did not shed a
single tear. She had a piece of paper in her hand.... it
was a letter to me.
She wrote:
My son...
I think my life has been long enough now. And... I won't
visit Seoul anymore... but would it be too much to ask if
I wanted you to come visit me once in a while? I miss you
so much. And I was so glad when I heard you were coming
for the reunion. But I decided not to go to the
school.... For you... I'm sorry that I only have one eye,
and I was an embarrassment for you. You see, when you
were very little, you got into an accident, and lost your
eye. As a mother, I couldn't stand watching you having to
grow up with only one eye... so I gave you mine...I was
so proud of my son that was seeing a whole new world for
me, in my place, with that eye. I was never upset at you
for anything you did. The couple times that you were
angry with me. I thought to myself, 'it's because he
loves me.' I miss the times when you were still young
around me.
I miss you so much. I love you. You mean the world to me.
My world shattered!!!
Then I cried for the person who lived for me? My MOTHER !

Bush summons her to the White House and says, "Condoleeza, I wonder if you can answer

Rice was puzzled and finally asks, "Can I think about it and get back to you?" Bush agrees,

the question for several hours, but nobody can come up with an answer. Finally, in desperation,
Rice calls Colin Powell and explains the problem.
"Mr. Powell, your mother has a child, and your father has a child, and this child is not your
brother or your sister. Who is it?" Powell answers immediately, "It's me, of course."
Much relieved, Rice rushes back to the White House, finds George Bush, and exclaims,

A conversation....this was narrated by an IAF pilot to IIT students on special seminar for HUMAN RELATION.

My parents left for our native place on Thursday and we went to the airport to see them off. In fact, my father had never traveled by air before, so I just took this opportunity to make him experience the same. In spite of being asked to book tickets by train, I got them tickets on Jet Airways.
The moment I handed over the tickets to him, he was surprised to see that I had booked them by air. The excitement was very apparent on his face, waiting for the time of travel. Just like a school boy, he was preparing himself on that day and we all went to the airport, right from using the trolley for his luggage, the baggage check-in and asking for window seat and waiting restlessly for the security check-in to happen. He was thoroughly enjoying himself and I, too, was overcome with joy watching him experience all these things.
As they were about to go in for the security check-in, he walked up to me with tears in his eyes and thanked me. He became very emotional and it was not as if I had done something great but the fact that this meant a great deal to him.
When he said thanks, I told him there was no need to thank me. But later, thinking about the entire incident, I looked back at my life. As a child how many dreams our parents have made come true. Without understanding the financial situation, we ask for cricket bats, dresses, toys, outings, etc. Irrespective of their affordability, they have catered to all our needs. Did we ever think about the sacrifices they had to make to accommodate many of our wishes? Did we ever say thanks for all that they have done for us?
Same way, today when it comes to our children, we always think that we should put them in a good school. Regardless of the amount of donation, we will ensure that we will have to give the child the best, theme parks, toys, etc. But we tend to forget that our parents have sacrificed a lot for our sake to see us happy, so it is our responsibility to ensure that their dreams are realized and what they
failed to see when they were young, it is our responsibility to ensure that they experience all those and their life is complete.
Many times, when my parents had asked me some questions, I have actually answered back without patience. When my daughter asks me something, I have been very polite in answering. Now I realize how they would have felt at those moments. Let us realize that old age is a second childhood and just as we take care of our children, the same attention and same care need to be given to our parents and elders.
Rather than my dad saying thank you to me, I would want to say sorry for making him wait so long for this small dream. I do realize how much he has sacrificed for my sake and I will do my best to give the best possible attention to all their wishes.
Just because they are old does not mean that they will have to give up everything and keep sacrificing for their grandchildren also. They have wishes, too.
