Today's Story is Do your Best
Sometimes occasionally goes by the rules but mostly does his own thing. Heis more worried about being everyone's friend than doing his school work.He gets into trouble a lot but managed to charm his way through it. Hisparents have gone to school a lot to have parent teacher conferences.Always is a boy who always goes by the book, never breaks the rules and isnever in trouble. He always pleased his family and friends and never letthem down. He is usually stressed out and gets headaches and stomach achesfrom stress.Always became very ill one day and had to be rushed to the hospital. Thedoctors were baffled at what could be wrong with him. Many tests were runand in the end they were inconclusive. He was released and went home onlyto be stressed some more about missing school and possibly letting everyonedown if he received a grade less than an A.Now sometimes was doing poorly in school and he knew it. He decided that hewould just do what he could to get by, he thought " Why should I stress outlook what happened to Always."Well Always was having the same thoughts “Why should I stress and makemyself sick, sometimes gets by ok" and at that time he started missingschool and just barely got passing grades.Their parents decided to sit the boys down and talk to them and tell themthat they just need to do their best and that is all that can be asked ofthem. They do not need to stress and get ill but also do not slack off andget failing grades.Their parents just wanted them to know that whatever they did they would beproud of them as long as they did their best. Finally, Sometimes spoke up and said " You mean even if we don't do wellall the time that you will still love us and be proud of us ?? " Theparents answered the question, "yes we will love you , ALWAYS !!!!" The moral is,do your best at whatever you do that is all that can be expected of you and you will turn out just fine your parents will love you no matter what.

A Wonderful Story
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white
beards
sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I
don't
think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have
something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?", they asked.
"No", she replied. "He's out."
"Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had
happened.
"Go tell them I am home and invite them in!"
The woman went out and invited the men in"
"We do not go into a House together," they replied.
"Why is that?" she asked.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to
one
of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I
am
Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which
one of
us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband
was
overjoyed. "How n ice!!", he said. "Since that is the case, let us
invite
Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!"
His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter was listening from the other corner of the house. She
jumped
in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love?
Our
home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter's advice," said the husband to his wife.
"Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is
Love?
Please come in and be our guest."
Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got
up
and followed him. Surprised, t he lady asked Wealth and Success: "I
only
invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success,
the
other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love,
wherever
He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth
and
Success!!!!!!"

An Amazing Love Story
He met her on a party. She was so outstanding, many guys chasing after her, while he so normal, nobody paid attention to him. At the end of the party,he invited her to have coffee with him, she was surprised, but due to beingpolite, she promised. They sat in a nice coffee shop, he was too nervous tosay anything, she felt uncomfortable, she thought, please, let me gohome.... suddenly he asked the waiter. "would you please give me some salt?I'd like to put it in my coffee."
Everybody stared at him, so strange! His face turned red, but still, he putthe salt in his coffee and drank it. She asked him curiously; why you havethis hobby? He replied: "when I was a little boy, I was living near thesea, I like playing in the sea, I could feel the taste of the sea, justlike the taste of the salty coffee. Now every time I have the salty coffee,I always think of my childhood, think of my hometown, I miss my hometown somuch, I miss my parents who are still living there". While saying thattears filled his eyes. She was deeply touched.
That's his true feeling, from the bottom of his heart. A man who can tellout his homesickness, he must be a man who loves home, cares about home, has responsibility of home. Then she also started to speak, spoke about herfaraway hometown, her childhood, her family. That was a really nice talk, also a beautiful beginning of their story.
They continued to date. She found that actually he was a man who meets allher demands; he had tolerance, was kind hearted, warm, careful. He was sucha good person but she almost missed him! Thanks to his salty coffee! Then the story was just like every beautiful love story , the princessmarried to the prince, then they were living the happy life... And, everytime she made coffee for him, she put some salt in the coffee e, as sheknew that's the way he liked it.
After 40 years, he passed away, left her a letter which said: "My dearest,
to you---the salty coffee. Remember the first time we dated? I was sonervous at that time, actually I wanted some sugar, but I said salt It washard for me to change so I just went ahead.I never thought that could bethe start of our communication! I tried to tell you the truth many times inmy life, but I was too afraid to do that, as I have promised not to lie toyou for anything..Now I'm dying, I afraid of nothing so I tell you the truth: I don't likethe salty coffee, what a strange bad taste.. But I have had the saltycoffee for my whole life! Since I knew you, I never feel sorry for anythingI do for you. Having you with me is my biggest happiness for my whole life.If I can live for the second time, still want to know you and have you formy whole life, even though I have to drink the salty coffee again".Her tears made the letter totally wet.Someday, someone asked her: what'sthe taste of salty coffee? It's sweet.
She replied.Love is not 2 forget but 2 forgive, not 2 c but 2 understand, not 2 hearbut 2 listen, not 2 let go but 2 HOLD ON !!!!Don't ever leave the one you love for the one you like, because the one youlike will leave you for the one they love.

The President of IndiaDR. A. P. J. Abdul Kalaam's Speech in Hyderabad
"I have three visions for India. In 3000 years of our history, people from all over the world have come andinvaded us, captured our lands, conquered our minds. From Alexanderonwards. The Greeks, the Turks, the Moguls, the Portuguese, the British, the French, the Dutch, all of them came and looted us, took over what wasours. Yet we have not done this to any other nation. We have not conqueredanyone. We have not grabbed their land, their culture, their history andtried to enforce our way of life on them. Why? Because we respect thefreedom of others. That is why my first vision is that of FREEDOM. Ibelieve that India got its first vision of this in 1857, when we startedthe war of independence. It is this freedom that we must protect andnurture and build on. If we are not free, no one will respect us.My second vision for India is DEVELOPMENT. For fifty years we have been adeveloping nation. It is time we see ourselves as a developed nation. Weare among top 5 nations of the world in terms of GDP. We have 10 percentgrowth rate in most areas. Our poverty levels are falling. Our achievementsare being globally recognized today. Yet we lack the self-confidence to seeourselves as a developed nation, self-reliant and self-assured. Isn't thisincorrect?I have a THIRD vision. India must stand up to the world. Because I believethat, unless India stands up to the world, no one will respect us. OnlySTRENGTH respects strength. We must be strong not only as a military powerbut also as an economic power. Both must go hand-in-hand. My good fortunewas to have worked with three great minds. Dr. Vikram Sarabhai of the Dept.of space, Professor Satish Dhawan, who succeeded him and Dr.Brahm Prakash, father of nuclear material. I was lucky to have worked with all three ofthem closely and consider this the great opportunity of my life.I see four milestones in my career:Twenty years I spent in ISRO. I was given the opportunity to be the projectdirector for India's first satellite launch vehicle, SLV3. The one thatlaunched Rohini. These years played a very important role in my life ofScientist. After my ISRO years, I joined DRDO and got a chance to be thepart of India's guided missile program. It was my second bliss when Agnimet its mission requirements in 1994. The Dept. of Atomic Energy and DRDOhad this tremendous partnership in the recent nuclear tests, on May 11 and13. This was the third bliss. The joy of participating with my team inthese nuclear tests and proving to the world that India can make it, thatwe are no longer a developing nation but one of them. It made me feel veryproud as an Indian. The fact that we have now developed for Agni a re-entrystructure, for which we have developed this new material. A very lightmaterial called carbon-carbon.One day an orthopedic surgeon from Nizam Institute of Medical Sciencesvisited my laboratory. He lifted the material and found it so light! thathe took me to his hospital and showed me his patients. There were these little girls and boys with heavy metallic calipersweighing over three Kg. each, dragging their feet around. He said to me: Please remove the pain of my patients. In three weeks, wemade these Floor reaction Orthosis 300-gram calipers and took them to theorthopedic centre. The children didn't believe their eyes. From draggingaround a three kg. load on their legs, they could now move around! Theirparents had tears in their eyes. That was my fourth bliss! Why is the media here so negative? Why are we in India so embarrassed torecognize our own strengths, our achievements? We are such a great nation. We have so many amazing success stories but we refuse to acknowledgethem. Why? We are the first in milk production. We are number one in Remotesensing satellites. We are the second largest producer of wheat. We are thesecond largest producer of rice. Look at Dr. Sudarshan, he has transferredthe tribal village into a self-sustaining, self-driving unit. There are millions of such achievements but our media is only obsessed inthe bad news and failures and disasters. I was in Tel Aviv once and I wasreading the Israeli newspaper. It was the day after a lot of attacks andbombardments and deaths had taken place. The Hamas had struck. But thefront page of the newspaper had the picture of a Jewish gentleman who infive years had transformed his desert land into an orchid and a granary. Itwas this inspiring picture that everyone woke up to. The gory details ofkillings, bombardments, deaths, were inside in the newspaper, buried amongother news.In India we only read about death, sickness, terrorism, crime. Why are weso NEGATIVE?Another question: Why are we, as a nation so obsessed with foreign things? We want foreign T.Vs, we want foreign shirts. We want foreign technology. Why this obsession with everything imported. Do we not realize thatself-respect comes with self-reliance?I was in Hyderabad giving this lecture, when a 14 year old girl asked mefor my autograph. I asked her what her goal in life is. She replied: I wantto live in a developed India. For her, you and I will have to build thisdeveloped India. You must proclaim. India is not an under-developed nation;it is a highly developed nation.Do you have 10 minutes? Allow me to come back with a vengeance. Got 10minutes for your country? If yes, then read; otherwise, choice is yours.YOU say that our government is inefficient.YOU say that our laws are too old.YOU say that the municipality does not pick up the garbage.YOU say that the phones don't work, the railways are a joke, The airline isthe worst in the world, mails never reach their destination.YOU say that our country has been fed to the dogs and is the absolute pits.YOU say, say and say. What do YOU do about it?Take a person on his way to Singapore. Give him a name - YOURS. Give him aface - YOURS.YOU walk out of the airport and you are at your International best. InSingapore you don't throw cigarette butts on the roads or eat in thestores.YOU are as proud of their Underground links as they are. You pay $5(approx. Rs.60) to drive through Orchard Road (equivalent of Mahim Causewayor Pedder Road) between 5 PM and 8 PM.YOU come back to the parking lot to punch your parking ticket if you haveover stayed in a restaurant or a shopping mall irrespective of your statusidentity. .In Singapore you don't say anything, DO YOU? YOU wouldn't dare to eat inpublic during Ramadan, in Dubai. YOU would not dare to go out without yourhead covered in Jeddah. YOU would not dare to buy an employee of thetelephone exchange in London at 10 pounds ( Rs.650) a month to, "see to itthat my STD and ISD calls are billed to someone else."YOU would not dare to speed beyond 55 mph (88 km/h) in Washington and thentell the traffic cop, "Jaanta hai main kaun hoon (Do you know who I am?).I am so and so's son. Take your two bucks and get lost."YOU wouldn't chuck an empty coconut shell anywhere other than the garbagepail on the beaches in Australia and New Zealand. Why don't YOU spit Paan on the streets of Tokyo? Why don't YOU use examination jockeys or buy fake certificates in Boston???We are still talking of the same YOU.YOU who can respect and conform to a foreign system in other countries butcannot in your own. You who will throw papers and cigarettes on the roadthe moment you touch Indian ground. If you can be an involved andappreciative citizen in an alien country, why cannot you be the same herein India?Once in an interview, the famous Ex-municipal commissioner of Bombay,Mr.Tinaikar, had a point to make. "Rich people's dogs are walked on thestreets to leave their affluent droppings all over the place," he said."And then the same people turn around to criticize and blame theauthorities for inefficiency and dirty pavements. What do they expect theofficers to do?Go down with a broom every time their dog feels the pressure in his bowels? In America every dog owner has to clean up after his pet has done the job.Same in Japan. Will the Indian citizen do that here?" He's right. We go tothe polls to choose a government and after that forfeit all responsibility. We sit back wanting to be pampered and expect the government to doeverything for us whilst our contribution is totally negative. We expectthe Government to clean up but we are not going to stop chucking garbageall over the place nor are we going to stop to pick up a stray piece ofpaper and throw it in the bin. We expect the railways to provide cleanbathrooms but we are not going to learn the proper use of bathrooms. We want Indian Airlines and Air India to provide the best of food andtoiletries but we are not going to stop pilfering at the least opportunity. This applies even to the staff who is known not to pass on the service tothe public. When it comes to burning social issues like those related towomen, dowry, girl child! and others, we make loud drawing roomprotestations and continue to do the reverse at home. Our excuse? "It's thewhole system which has to change, how will it matter if I alone forego mysons' rights to a dowry." So who's going to change the system? What does a system consist of ? Very conveniently for us it consists of ourneighbours, other households, other cities, other communities and thegovernment. But definitely not me and YOU. When it comes to us actuallymaking a positive contribution to the system we lock ourselves along withour families into a safe cocoon and look into the distance at countries faraway and wait for a Mr. Clean to come along & work miracles for us with amajestic sweep of his hand or we leave the country and run away.Like lazy cowards hounded by our fears we run to America to bask in theirglory and praise their system. When New York becomes insecure we run toEngland. When England experiences unemployment, we take the next flight outto the Gulf. When the Gulf is war struck, we demand to be rescued andbrought home by the Indian government. Everybody is out to abuse and rapethe country. Nobody thinks of feeding the system. Our conscience ismortgaged to money.Dear Indians, The article is highly thought inductive, calls for a greatdeal of introspection and pricks one's conscience too.... I am echoingJ.F.Kennedy 's words to his fellow Americans to relate to Indians....."ASK WHAT WE CAN DO FOR INDIA AND DO WHAT HAS TO BE DONE TO MAKE INDIA WHATAMERICA AND OTHER WESTERN COUNTRIES ARE TODAY"Lets do what India needs from us.Forward this mail to each Indian for a change instead of sending Jokes orjunk mails.Thank you,Dr. Abdul Kalaam (PRESIDENT OF INDIA)

The Flame of Love
A student went to a saint and asked, "Master, tell me how can I protect my soul from the snares of the devil."
Without a word, the saint lit a candle and told him, "Put your hand over the flame."
"Oh, no, Master," said the student. "The flame is so hot that it would burn my fingers."
"Anyone who wishes to be unconquered by evil must first enkindle the flame of love of God in one's heart," the saint said, "the devil cannot touch a soul that is afire with love of God."
Srila Prabhupada explains, "Krishna consciousness is such a transcendentally nice thing that automatically material enjoyment becomes distasteful. It is as if a hungry man had satisfied his hunger by a sufficient quantity of nutritious eatables." (Bhagavad-gita 2.60, purport)
Srila Prabhupada also says, "The process is very simple. Simply by chanting the holy names of God - Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare / Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare - one cleanses the dirt from his heart and gains understanding that he is part and parcel of the Supreme Lord and that it is his duty to serve Him. This process is very pleasant: we chant the Hare Krishna mantra, we dance rhythmically, and we eat nice prasada. While enjoying this life, we are preparing to enter into the kingdom of God in our next life." - Easy Journey to Other Planets

Very Inspiring and touching ....
A few weeks ago NIMH (National Institute of Mentally Handicapped , Hyderabad, INDIA) had conducted a sports meet for all the Physically & mentally handicapped children at National Stadium Hyderabad. In one race.., Nine contestants, all physically or mentally disabled, assembled at the starting line for the 100-yard dash. At the gun, they all started out, not exactly in a dash, but with a relish to run the race to the finish and win. All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the asphalt, tumbled over a couple of times, and began to cry. The other eight heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back. Then they all turned around and went back......every one of them. One girl with Down's Syndrome bent down and kissed him and said, "This will make it better." Then all nine linked arms and walked together to the finish line. Everyone in the stadium stood, and the cheering went on for several minutes. People who were there are still telling the story. Why?? Because deep down we know this one thing: What matters in this life is more than winning for ourselves. What matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing our course. If you pass this on, we may be able to change our hearts as well as someone else's. "A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle" Please tell others about it - at least to the people who will understand the meaning of the message.

The professor of a university challenged his students withthis question. "Did God create everything that exists?" A studentanswered bravely, "Yes, he did".
The professor then asked, "If God created everything, then he createdevil. Since evil exists (as noticed by our own actions), so God is evil. The student couldn't respond to that statement causing the professor toconclude that he had "proved" that "belief in God" was a fairy tale, andtherefore worthless.
Another student raised his hand and asked the professor, "May I pose aquestion? " "Of course" answered the professor.
The young student stood up and asked : "Professor does Cold exists?"
The professor answered, "What kind of question is that?...Of course thecold exists... haven't you ever been cold?"
The young ! student answered, "In fact sir, Cold does not exist. Accordingto the laws of Physics, what we consider cold, in fact is the absence ofheat. Anything is able to be studied as long as it transmits energy(heat). Absolute Zero is the total absence of heat, but cold does notexist. What we have done is create a term to describe how we feel if wedon't have body heat or we are not hot."
"And, does Dark exist?", he continued. The professor answered "Of course". This time the student responded, "Againyou're wrong,Sir. Darkness does not exist either. Darkness is in fact simply the absence of light.Light can be studied, darkness can not. Darkness cannot be broken down. A simple ray of light tears thedarkness and illuminates the surface where the light beam finishes. Dark is a term that we humanshave created to describe what happens when there's lack of light."
Finally, the student asked the professor, "Sir, does evil exist?" The profes! sor replied, "Of course it exists, as Imentioned at the beginning, we see violations, crimes and violence anywhere in the world, and those things are evil."
The student responded, "Sir, Evil does not exist. Just as in the previous cases, Evil is a term which man has createdto describe the result of the absence of God's presence in the hearts of man.
After this, the professor bowed down his head, and didn't answer back.
The young man's name was ALBERT EINSTEIN.
